The Sufficient Answer for Those Who Ask About the Healing Medicine or the Disease and the Cure. It is a book written by Imam Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyya (691 AH - 751 AH). Its chapters address the topic of reforming and correcting the soul, and refining it according to the Islamic perspective, as the reader moves between its chapters passing through advice and rebuke. The book deals with the afflictions of the soul that commands evil, revealing its faults and mistakes, explaining the power of desires over it, and warning against the tricks and deceptions of Satan in causing the soul to fall into sins and transgressions, and to settle for worldly life and its adornments.
It is an Islamic book that deals with Islamic psychology with rational and transmitted evidence.
The reason for writing it was to ask Ibn al-Qayyim a question: "What do the scholars, the imams of religion, may God be pleased with them all, say about a man who has been afflicted with a calamity and knows that if it continues, it will ruin his worldly life and the hereafter? He has tried hard to repel it from himself in every way, but it only becomes more intense and severe. What is the trick to repel it? What is the way to uncover it? May God have mercy on the one who helps the afflicted, and God helps the servant as long as the servant helps his brother. Give us a fatwa, may you be rewarded, may God Almighty have mercy on you."

The book is very wonderful, and it is an answer to a fatwa in which the Imam was asked about a treatment for a disease, which is love, so he discussed this topic in detail, and the book begins by mentioning that every disease has a cure, then the author mentions love and talks about its harms and the chapter that it is from polytheism and may lead to it, and he dedicates a chapter to talking about sins and their punishments in religion, this world and the body, and mentions the treatment of love and how to eradicate it, and the book includes many benefits as usual in Ibn al-Qayyim's books, which may not be closely related to the topic, but Ibn al-Qayyim mentions them for the benefit of the reader.

"The Disease and the Cure" or "The Sufficient Answer for He Who Asked About the Healing Cure" .. A valuable book just like its author, it is enough that Ibn al-Qayyim - may Allah have mercy on him - wrote it .. The book is somewhat terrifying, and to the extent of this terrifying is the awakening from the slumber of heedlessness ..
- Salihah is
one of the most books that can be read and benefited from completely .. A beautiful, useful and very enjoyable book in which Ibn al-Qayyim - may Allah have mercy on him and forgive him and be pleased with him, God willing - describes the causes of heart diseases and how to treat them

❇️ Some quotes from the book “The Disease and the Cure” by Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyya ❇️
“Whoever wants to appear is a slave of appearance, and whoever wants to be hidden is a slave of hiddenness. As for whoever wants God and is a slave to Him, He is the One who, if He wills, reveals him and if He wills, conceals him. He does not choose for himself appearance or concealment.”
“The most intelligent of people is he who attracts fates with fates, and repels fates with fates. The good of this world and the next is not attracted and the evil of this world and the next is not repelled with anything like doing good to God and doing good to people.”
“Whoever abandons enjoining what is right and forbidding what is wrong out of fear of creation, obedience is taken away from him, even if he were to command his son or his master, he would belittle his right.”
“Piety is not established except on the leg of patience.”
“For everything that a servant misses, there is a substitute, and if God misses it, nothing can compensate for it at all.”
“Maruf said: Your hope for the mercy of one you do not obey is a sign of failure
and foolishness.” “Love and will are the origin and beginning of every action, and hatred and loathing are the origin and beginning of every abandonment, and these two powers in the heart are the origin of the servant’s happiness and misery.”
